Mission USA assists in planting new churches all across America, especially west of the MIssissippi River, in partnership with our five districts and our 200-plus existing MB churches. Our vision is to plant six new churches per year over the next several years. Want to see a list of all our current church plant projects? Visit the Church Plants page.
Church planting is not a simple, cookie cutter-type of ministry. No two projects are exactly alike. It takes a lot of discernment, assessment, prayer and hard work to understand how God is leading in any particular church plant situation. And that is as it should be. These new churches belong to the King of kings. He is the Lord of the church and we must be about joining Him in His work. If we try to plant a church on our own understanding and merit, it will fail. So, we pray. Would you pray with us?
We need prayer in order to discern the appropriate locations to plant new churches. We need prayer to find just the right church planters to plant those churches. We need prayer for protection, guidance and wisdom. And, we need money to get it done—financial supporters are crucial.
As we plant churches, we create what is known as a Project Team, a group of leaders chosen from the plant's supporting agencies, plus the church planter and his wife. This group functions as the elder board for the first two to three years of a plant's existence. This direct on-site support and guidance has proven to be very effective in helping insure progress and survivability. In fact, Mission USA-supported churches have a survivability rate of 80 percent, much higher than the national church plant survival average of 68 percent.
Many new, vibrant churches have been started over the past several years and more are planned for the near future! Please pray for our church planters. Our church planters are gifted people who are passionate about serving in order to help more people become fully-devoted followers of Jesus. Church planting results in life transformation!
